Today I'm 24! Well actually at 2:41pm today I'm 24. I think (hope!) 24 is going to be a good year. First, I think it's cool that my birthday is 2-4 (February 4th) and I'm 24 today. Dork, I know, but that's only going to happen this once!
I think this year, or the next couple years, are going to include a lot of, "finding oneself" despite change. It'll be interesting to see where people move in terms of location, jobs, relationships, life in general, etc. The twenties are definitely not dull.
My birthday horoscope (highlighting things I like/ find interesting):
Your personal ruling planet is Uranus.
You are extremely methodical in your thought but you must learn to temper your opinion and accommodate other people's point of view. Because you are hard working, you may tend to exceed your physical capacity and this may result to a high degree of self criticism. The number 4 is an extreme number, especially in its desire for material success. Do not overemphasise the importance of your worldly activity and accomplishments. Give some time to your spiritual and inner life.
The combination of energies on your birthdate show you are completely ruled by the planet Uranus, and somewhat by the Dragon, which is known as the North Node. These revolutionary and abrupt influences speak of your unconventional nature. You should use these powers to produce things of a down to earth nature, rather than running off into untried or untested areas too soon. (I think I disagree with the second part of this line)
You have a very electrical aura about you, which makes you very enticing, very magnetic, not just to members of the opposite sex but also to members of your own sex. Use this energy to achieve success as there is no doubt you will make a great impact in the world.
Your lucky colours are Electric Blue, Electric White and Multi Colours.
Your lucky gems are Hessonite garnet and agate.
Your lucky days of the week are Sunday and Thursday.
Your lucky numbers and years of important change are 4, 13, 22, 31, 40, 49, 58, 67, 76.
Famous people born on your birthday include Charles Lindbergh, Ida Lupino, Alice Cooper, Laura Linney, Michael Goorjian, Oscar De La Hoya and Natalie Imruglia.

2010 is...
...deleting all of my text messages. ALL sent or received. Whether good or bad, I don't need these cluttering my life.

15 Simple Ways to be Happy in 2010
1. Be your own BFF (best friend forever). Enjoy your own company. Embrace everything about you! Without a doubt, it's the most important step towards being a happy person.
2. Smile, giggle, snicker, or chuckle! Smiling releases serotonin in the brain, which instantaneously gives your mood a lift.
3. Dream big in every area of life. Set your life in motion and manifest your heart's desire.
4. Shut the doors and the windows tight! And then put on your favorite song and sing out loud. Let it rip!
5. Cook a healthy, delicious meal. Serve it up pretty and savor the flavor, one bite at a time.
6. Expect a miracle. Believe that something wonderful will happen for you today. The universe is waiting to shower happy blessings on you.
7. Meditate, pray and chant. Research shows that people who are spiritual tend to be happier and healthier than those who are not.
8. Pull up your best pair of warm socks. Wiggle your toes and enjoy a cozy kind of bliss.
9. Sleep baby sleep. Seven or eight hours each night should increase your energy and decrease your moodiness.
10. Count your blessings daily. Gratitude, the emotion of thankfulness, is one of the key ingredients for living a happy life. Make gratitude a habit and happiness will be yours.
11. Wake up early! Start the day off on a happy foot, with a happy thought. The morning hours are full of spiritual energy and prana (life force).
12. Let the sun shine in. 20 minutes of sunlight per day improves mood and wards of Seasonal Affection Disorder (SAD).
13. Take a hot bath. Feel the tension melt away as you sink into a pool of happiness.
14. Say "Good Job!" Give yourself permission to pat yourself on the back. Recognize your accomplishments and positive qualities.
15. Happiness is contagious! Surround yourself with happy, positive people who share your values, your goals and dreams.

2.0.1.0.
Wow, a new decade. I think this calls for some extra thought put into resolutions. But honestly, I'm too tired to think of them now. I do know I want to make my life more positive. I'm feeling more settled and solid in the Syracuse real-world now, and I think it's time to start growing. More friends? Yes please. More volunteering? Yes please. More outside-of-work creativity? Yes please. More adventures, spontaneity, and fun? Yes, Yes, and Yes.
I think I really will make an official list soon. I don't think of resolutions as being scary and overwhelming, but instead just simple guidance to get off on the right foot in a new year.
I know I really need to get a hobby- or finally really pursue one at least. I really want to have some more mindless but mindful creative things to do on the side. I'm going to look more seriously into letterpress (I would LOVE to find my own tabletop press), or at least begin designing cards with the craft supplies I have and continue to collect.
I also know I would really like to do more cardio- to have the ability to just run and run. I go to the gym 3x a week right now, but it's a mixed workout. I want to be able to participate in races come Spring.
So I guess there's a little sneak peak of what's to come. Official List coming soon.
